Elect John Scaletta Supervisor

John Scaletta is a distinguished community and business leader who served on the Village of Arlington Heights Board of Trustees for 16 years. His experience and business acumen ensured that the Village government operated in a cost-effective and fiscally responsible manner. Collaborating with fellow board members, John successfully changed the fiscal year to benefit all taxpayers. He always made sure that issues before the Board were carefully and thoroughly examined before making any decisions.

John’s commonsense approach to fiscal responsibility and balanced budgets, while providing exceptional services to taxpayers, will benefit the residents of Elk Grove Township for years to come. John serves as the Service Project Leader for his son’s BSA Scout Troop 32 and is an active member of the Elk Grove Township Mental Health & Wellness Committee, since 2023.

Re-Elect Connie Carosielli Township Assessor

Connie Carosielli has proudly served the residential taxpayers of Elk Grove Township as a dedicated advocate and problem solver for over 35 years. She is committed to providing essential information and facilitating access to the Cook County property tax system for those in need. Through comprehensive education and outreach efforts, Connie and her staff have effectively represented and supported the community. Their dedication is evident in the processing of nearly 10,000 taxpayer services annually, ensuring fairness and equity in taxation. This number increases significantly during triennial review years, highlighting their unwavering commitment to the residents.

Re-Elect Suellen Satern Township Clerk

Suellen Satern has dedicated over 15 years to serving the residents of Elk Grove Township, initially as a Trustee and now as the Clerk. Her tenure has been incredibly rewarding, thanks to the array of services provided to the community. The Township acts as a safety net for many, and it is heartening to witness the compassion and innovation demonstrated by the Township Board and its employees as they strive to meet the diverse needs of our residents.

We have made significant additions, including an Employment Center, new buses for senior and disabled transport, Veterans’ services, a Client’s Choice Food Pantry with evening hours, and a partnership with Josselyn for mental health needs. We also host community days that offer access to services such as the DMV and much more. Despite the expansion of services, the Township Board has managed to maintain a balanced budget and keep taxes low for our residents.

Re-Elect David Perns Township Trustee

David Perns is a chiropractor and small business owner for over 25 years with unwavering compassion and integrity. Through his clinic, Perns Back and Neck Clinic in Arlington Heights, he offers chiropractic and laser services to his patients. David is not only a respected business leader but also an active participant in numerous professional and community boards.

In his capacity as an Elk Grove Township Trustee, David champions initiatives that enhance community mental well-being, ensure a balanced budget, maintain low taxes, provide transportation assistance to seniors, and offer support to families in need. His advocacy for the taxpayers of Elk Grove Township is marked by his honesty and genuine concern for the well-being of all residents.

David lives in Mount Prospect with wife Robin and daughters Jessica and Ashley

Re-Elect Richard Keenley Township Trustee

Richard Keenley is a United States Naval Veteran and a highly dedicated community leader. As a senior member of the Elk Grove Township Board, Richard has served the community for the past eight years with unwavering commitment. His keen awareness of the needs of all residents, especially those who are often overlooked, has been invaluable. Richard has played a pivotal role in supporting local initiatives, such as promoting assistance and donations to the Food Pantry and other essential services. He is always ready to contribute his time and efforts to benefit the community whenever necessary.

In addition to his charitable endeavors, Richard is a steadfast advocate for taxpayers. He works diligently to eliminate waste, cut unnecessary costs, and solve problems, ensuring that community resources are used efficiently and effectively.

Re-Elect Dale Niewiardowski Township Trustee

Dale Niewiardowski has been a lifelong resident of Elk Grove Village and a dedicated community leader. He has contributed to various boards and committees, including the Township Board, where he has served as Trustee since 2013. Dale’s roots in Elk Grove Township run deep, with his family having moved to the area in 1940 and established businesses such as Nevarr Inc. and Nevarr Property Management, both of which Dale now operates.

Dale’s extensive experience as a local business owner and active community leader makes him a valuable member of the Township Board. His vast knowledge and dedication to the community are evident in his unwavering commitment to serve and improve Elk Grove Township.

Re-Elect Brian Maye Township Trustee

Brian Maye is a United States Naval Veteran including a deployment to Iraq. He has been a dedicated public servant throughout his life. From working as a legislative aide in the State Senate, serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine, mentoring under-privileged children, to now serving as a Trustee of the Elk Grove Township Board, Brian has always been committed to helping others through compassion, common sense and hard work.

Professionally, Brian is a trial attorney who focuses his practice on the aviation and aerospace industries. Brian represents airlines, airports, air ambulance companies, air cargo carriers, and other aviation industry entities in litigation and regulatory matters.

Brian lives in Mt. Prospect with his wife Laura & his three children Dylan, Lucas & Zoe.

Township Social, Community and Resident Services

Social Services

2024 TOI Supervisor of the Year Award for Social Services

  • • Added case workers to assist low-income individuals to apply for benefits - financial safety net

  • • Employment counseling and added a job board to assist residents.

  • • Added a medical lending closet.

  • • Assisted in the development of a separate community empowerment 501(c)(3) fund that provides emergency assistance for services we are not eligible to provide

Mental Health

  • • Mental Health & Wellness Committee increased the annual budget by 3% for a total of $620,000 for 2025.

  • • General Assistance has increased 275% since 2019

  • • Emergency Assistance has increased 99% since 2019

  • • Expanded Staff to 5 Adult & Family Counseling Therapists and Psychiatric Services

Food Pantry

Opened a grocery style experience
for those in need

  • • Visits have increased 340% since 2019

  • • Over 12,000 families/35000 people were served in 2024

  • • Students at EGHS & RMHS collected over 7,000 cereal boxes for the food pantry in 2024

  • • More than 40 community members volunteer weekly at the Food Pantry each year

  • • Over 800 Thanksgiving meals provided by $12,000 raised in our community

  • • All food and household items are donated by community residents, businesses and organizations

  • • Salvation Army Service Extension – An increase of 850% in funds applied towards EGT residents.

  • • Back to School Blast – School supplies provided to over 20 different schools reaching every town in EGT

  • • NEW PROGRAM – Older Adult Angel Tree was a success with 164 Senior Citizens receiving gifts of their choosing for the holidays

  • • CEDA Programs have increased 167% in applications processed since 2019 - A value of over $700,000 by Nicor & ComEd in past year

Youth Services

  • • Partner and provide social skills-based education programs for D57 & D59

  • • Provide Anti-bullying program

  • • Provide social skills program for newcomers

  • • Developed new Bike Safety Course at EGT campus

  • • Installed new Challenge Course at the EGT campus

Fiscally Responsible

  • • This tax increase amounts to .0027% over 12 years

  • • 1 tax increase in 12 years and that increase was to provide for a capital replacement program

  • • Advocated for referendum to dissolve Road & Bridge District to save $250k annually

  • • Consolidate facilities to improve efficiency & return two properties to the tax rolls.

Senior Services

The Township has four lift-equipped buses that allows residents to be more mobile and independent by providing transportation to a doctor’s appointment, the grocery store, the fitness center, restaurant, or any other place Seniors want to visit

  • • In 2024, 4,292 residents felt more independent because of this service.

  • • For Seniors traveling outside of the Township for doctor’s appointments, EGT has the Township Riders Initiative Program (TRIP) that partners with the PACE Suburban Bus System.

  • • In 2024, over 600 residents used TRIP

  • • Senior Benefit Services including Medicare Plan Counseling and assistance with applying for senior citizen benefits.

  • • Incorporated senior citizen walking course at EGT campus

Veterans

Veterans Service Office is located inside of EGT offices

  • • Worked with the State to establish a Veterans Service Office in the EGT offices

  • • A full-time Service Officer ensures Veterans, and their dependents receive the benefits they deserve.

Tax Advocacy

The EGT Assessor and her team assists residents with property tax appeals, file for real estate tax exemptions and answer questions about their property tax bills

  • • Processed 1,100 real estate tax appeals in 2024

  • • Processed 840 Certificates of Error processed to correct the County database

  • • Responded to over 3,200 taxpayer inquiries

  • • Assisted 2,700 walk-in taxpayers, who were looking for assistance with their Real Estate Tax Bill.

  • • Filed over 2,000 permits with the County totaling $617 million dollars

Transparency

In addition to posting information of the EGT website, mailing quarterly newsletters to all residents, broadcasting monthly Board meetings, providing for public comment at Board meetings, and posting services to those in need on multiple social media platforms, Board members are available via email or by phone and attend Township and community events

Administrative Services

  • Expanded services to include full-service passports, handicap placards, notary services and hunting & fishing licenses.
  • In 2024, over 750 passport applications were processed – 300% increase since 2019

Community Outreach

  • Added a Secretary of State Day at the EGT campus.
  • Added a Community Day including State, County and local community organizations and agency.
  • Work closely with D57, D59 and D214 to ensure students are aware of services the Township provides.

all of these services were enhanced or added while not increasing Real Estate Taxes over 11 years!
